 What is Reiki?

       Reiki is translated from Japanese as "Universal life Force Energy". The "Rei"...meaning Spirit, Soul, Universal God. While "Ki"...refers to energy force, breath of life. Almost all religious doctrines refer to this breath of life energy. The Chinese call it Chi or Qi. The Hindus refer to it as Prana, and the Hawaiians, call it Mana. Taoist masters have described Chi as..."the psychosocial power associated with blood and breath". Likewise, Prana can be defined as, " the subtle vibrational power penetrating the whole cosmos, and every living being, and even able to exercise influence of the mind".

Reiki is...

Universal life force energy.

Safe to use, at any time, in any situation.

A technique for activating,

restoring and balancing of natural energy from within.

A self help technique for personal growth and transformation.

A non intrusive technique.

Simple, easy, safe and harmless.

Energizes the body and mind safely, and effectively.

Reiki is not...

A religion, cult or a system.

A form of mind control, or self hypnosis.

A form of Psychic Healing.

A massage technique.

A way of invading a persons privacy.

A diagnostic aid.

"Wake up and live.

Set your sights high.

The higher the better.

Expect the most wonderful things to happen,

not in the future, but right now.

Realize that nothing is too good.

Allow nothing, absolutely nothing,

to hamper you, or hold you back, in any way".

 How does Reiki Heal.

We are alive because essential life forces flow through us.

Life force flows within the physical body, 

through pathways called Meridians.

These Meridians link vital energy centres called Chakras..

It also flows around us in an energy field, called the Aura . 

Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, 

supporting them in their vital functions.

When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes a  diminished 

function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical 

body. Here all levels of being, become effected.

The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes 

disrupted when we accept, either consciously, or unconsciously, 

negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves.These negative thoughts 

and feelings attach themselves to the energy field, and cause a 

disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function 

of the organs and cells of the physical body. Reiki heals, 

by flowing though the affected areas of the energy field, and charges 

it with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field, 

in and around the physical body, where negative thoughts and feelings 

are attached. This causes the negative energy to "dissolve" .

In doing so, Reiki clears, strengthens and heals the energy 

pathways, and allows the essential life force to flow ,

in a healthy and natural method.

Bipolar Nature of Reiki

Reiki consists of masculine and feminine energies.The masculine 

energy comes from above, and is associated with the Crown and 

higher chakras, and is called Shiva in the Tantra system.

The feminine energy comes from below, and is associated with the 

Base chakra, and is called Shakti, in the Tantra system.

Remember the saying ….Father Sky....Mother Earth ...so too are

 the energies, masculine for strength, and feminine for nurturing.

These two energies "communicate" with each other and decide how 

much of each polarity is needed, as you receive healing. 

It is interesting to note, that if there are several healers healing one 

recipient, the energy "communicates" with each healer, on a Spiritual 

level. This in turn leads to a distribution of individual balanced energy.

The Reiki Precepts.

Just for today, I will let go of anger.

Just for today, I will let go of worry.

Just for today, I will love and respect all life forms.

Just for to day, I will accept many blessings.

Just for today, I will live my life honestly.

This is the secret method of inviting happiness,

as laid down by the Meiji Emperor.

You may be asking what this has to do with Reiki?

 In order to be of service to others,

you must first know, respect, heal and love yourself.

 If you can not do this, 

then how can you heal others?

Usui Reiki Ryoho(system), is taught either in a group, or with two people. There are three levels, each being taught over two consecutive days. 

Reiki One and Reiki two, are taught one month a part, with certain requirements between these two levels.

Youth are taught Reiki Rangers, while teenagers can be taught Reiki One.
